Literature on collective security has been growing. But a significant hole in it has remained. However, the emergence of a new regional grouping that aimed at the Eurasian security called Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) under China and Russia throws a new perspective on the multifaceted nature of the global security system. Hence, the book is important and timely. It consists of four chapters. The author discusses the historical antecedents, as well as the legal and organizational structure of the SCO in the first three chapters. The major crux of his work lies in the last chapter covering retrospect and prospects of the SCO.- Why has China Grown so Fast for so Long

China's unexpected economic development has been embraced enthusiastically by the global academia. Many analysts have even said that the 21st century belongs to it. They have sought to analyze the 'Dragon Phenomenon'. Its rise would bring in a politico-cultural shift in international politics. The complex political matrix that evolved in Nepal after the historic Jan Andolan II, 2006 (People's Movement II) and the subsequent democratic transition created extensive literature in political science and international relations. This volume throws fresh light on the subject with thought-provoking analysis on key areas like economic development and social democracy.- Another Wave of Forest and Adivasi Land Alienation? This article examines the Kerala government decision to issue revenue land rights to individuals, including scheduled caste and scheduled tribes in a few districts. It also looks at a circular issued by the state forest department to do away with the myriad of issues associated with the implementation of the Forest Right Act, 2006 (FRA) in the state. Such a decision in the wake of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has raised suspicion among the community and triggered arguments and counterarguments within major tribal groups and activists in the state. These documents seem to be a clear violation of FRA. We argue that the policies might help the government and private land mafia to acquire tribal land for large-scale commercial use that further vitiate the adivasi land question in the state. Keywords
